Are your wisdom teeth coming through and causing pain?

The appearance of the third molar (commonly known as ‘wisdom teeth’) occurs when other teeth have already appeared. This sometimes means there is not enough space, and the gum is above the tooth, causing swelling and often infection. Surgery does not necessarily involve removal of the tooth; it may be solved with a minor surgical procedure. In any case, treatment is advisable to cure the infection and ease the pain.
